Watch SPIRITBOX Tear Up The 2026 GRAMMY Awards With A Performance Of "Soft Spine"

No Poppy confusion happened this year, either!

Gold-certified alternative metal outfit Spiritbox performed during the premiere awards ceremony for this year's GRAMMY Awards, held in February 1, at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, CA.

The band earned their third GRAMMY nomination to date this year and took the stage to perform their nominated single "Soft Spine." The track was in contention for Best Metal Performance, facing off against releases from Ghost, Sleep Token, and Dream Theater. Ultimately, however, the award went to Turnstile for their song "Birds."

Despite leaving without a trophy, Spiritbox's onstage appearance marked a notable moment for the band — and a fitting full-circle moment at the GRAMMYs. At last year's ceremony, frontwoman Courtney LaPlante went viral after being mistaken for Poppy during a red-carpet interview, a mix-up that quickly became a meme within heavy music circles.

It's also not the first time Spiritbox kicked the public's ass with a performance of "Soft Spine". That honor belongs to the band's 2025 performance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!
