Watch MALEVOLENCE Write & Record A New Song In 12 Hours For World Of Warcraft: Midnight

British metalcore band Malevolence created "Twelve To Zero" in just 12 hours to celebrate the upcoming WoW: Midnight expansion.

Malevolence have joined forces with MMORPG giant World of Warcraft for a one-of-a-kind collaboration. Tasked by developer/publisher Blizzard Entertainment to write a track in just 12 hours, the band accepted the challenge – and the result is the new song "Twelve To Zero."

An avid WoW fan within the band helped inspire the project, which ties directly into the March 2 release of the game's latest expansion, World of Warcraft: Midnight.

"We were given the challenge by Blizzard to create a song in 12 hours to celebrate their new expansion for World of Warcraft: Midnight," the band said. "In the video we demonstrate how we build a song from the ground up including writing the lyrics, riffs, solos and breakdowns. Stick around to the end of the video to hear the fully mixed and mastered song in full!"

The accompanying video documents the entire creative process, giving fans a behind-the-scenes look at how the metalcore track was constructed – from riffs to breakdowns – before debuting at 10:37 in the clip.

Malevolence and Guilt Trip are gearing up to cross the Atlantic this spring for the United Kingdom Metal and Hardcore Across North America 2026 tour. For Malevolence, this marks their first proper U.S. headline tour, and the band is thrilled to share the spotlight with longtime friends and UK comrades Guilt Trip.
