Restless Spirit are back, louder and leaner than ever. The Long Island, NY heavy metal lifers have announced a new self-titled album, Restless Spirit, arriving May 8, 2026 — and they're kicking things off with a blistering first single, "The Burning Need."
As honest and unpretentious as heavy metal gets, Restless Spirit finds the band doubling down on what they do best: straightforward American metal with a stoner-rock edge, packed with massive riffs, scorching guitar tones, and hooks that hit hard and stick around.
The album's first advance single and accompanying music video, "The Burning Need," perfectly captures that ethos. It's a no-nonsense headbanger built on frying guitars and muscular grooves, setting the tone for what promises to be Restless Spirit's most confident statement to date.
"With our first advance single, ‘The Burning Need,' we present Restless Spirit at our most clear and focused," vocalist and guitarist Paul Aloisio explains. "We took everything we learned from the last decade and put together a track that gets straight to the point while staying interesting and heavy."
Lyrically, the song digs deeper than sheer volume might suggest. "The lyrics revolve around the theme of resilience," Aloisio adds, "and this song ranks among our most personal to date."
