Trombone Champ sounds like someone got drunk off their ass and tried to do the best they could with a bunch of different songs on trombone. The results are generally hilarious, though possibly none more than Dragonforce's "Through The Fire And Flames." It's not shocking the song made it to Trombone Champ given its initial rise with the Guitar Hero series, but man – this sounds about a thousand times funnier on trombone.
Trombone Champ is available here on Steam and is described as such: "Trombone Champ is the world's first trombone-based rhythm music game. Unlike most music games, you can freely play any note at any time. You're not just following along with the music, you're actually playing the music!"
Oh, and just in case you thought Dragonforce struck it rich with their Guitar Hero appearance, think again. Dragonforce guitarist Herman Li revealed in an interview earlier this year that the band only got paid around $3,000 for the use of the track.
"How many millions of dollars did I get? Well, I'll tell you this. Guitar Hero actually only paid a one-off fee to use the song. So [it was] less than $3,000. Maybe even less."
Li said that even though Dragonforce didn't get paid much, the exposure was huge for the band. "At that time, guitar music wasn't really that popular," later adding "Letting the audience hear our music and decide if they like it or not was really special, because we definitely don't play music that fits the radio. You're not gonna hear seven minutes of shredding melodic metal on the radio.
